In a parallel operation, security forces conducted search and area domination exercises in vulnerable regions of Manipur’s hill and valley districts.
One such sweep, in the Saheibung Peak area along the Zero Point-Kotzim Road under New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District, yielded a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
Authorities emphasised that the seized weaponry highlights the vigilance and preparedness of security forces in curbing militant threats in the region.
Manipur has faced persistent challenges from insurgent groups operating in its remote and vulnerable areas. The KCP has been involved in various unlawful activities, including extortion to fund its operations.
Authorities have stated that investigations are on to uncover the full extent of the arrested cadres’ activities and their potential links to other militant networks.
Meanwhile, search and combing operations continue across the state to maintain peace and ensure the safety of local communities.
